Projects

We are planning to run three projects per year:

Project 1- Fotogreen

Objectives
1. To get volunteers to organize weekend camps and teach the volunteers about creating environmental awareness through green initiatives such as following the 3R's/ ethical living principles.
2. To get volunteers for weekend meets at a nature reserve/ park to teach photography and the topics would be wildlife, nature and urban environment to portray the perils or damages that has occurred due to human intervention over the past two decades.
3. To exhibit photographs collected from volunteers at a public place of interest on World Environment Day which falls on the 5th of June every year.
4. To make calendars every year, out of photographs collected from volunteers which would be selected by a panel of professional photographers.
5. Calendars will be put on sale from November to March.

Project 2- Green hands

Objectives
1. To support community level projects such as handicrafts/ eco friendly products and empower women to be independent and financially secure in rural and suburban areas.
2. We would buy products from these small scale industries and put up for sale worldwide as per fair-trade regulations whereby the end producer will be given a fair deal.
3. Products would be hand-made files, post-it notes, memos, pen stands, diaries and notebooks.

Project 3- Green gym

1. To organize a "green gym" were volunteers would be engaging in public work by which they would be clearing off pathways and unwanted debris at a nature reserve/National park for which we are seeking permission right now. (It involves physical work and therefore the name green gym, for which you need not spend anything as you would spend at a normal gym everyday!) This is a good mental and physical rejuvenating practice for people who are stressed from the desk job or indoor air-conditioned atmosphere. Moreover a chance to breathe some fresh air and to meet like minded people.

We do free weekend photography classes for school children and also under privileged children. We undertake consultancy work for green buildings, green living, rainwater harvesting, solar power, composting, recycled products and organic farming. We encourage people from all walks of life to join us during the weekend to engage in our "Save the environment" projects.
